Credomatic Merchant Services: What are the key roles of your Finance team?
Smerling Rosario: We work closely with Merchant Services in verifying that all the transmissions from our merchants are sent to the associations, as well as the payments to the merchants. If any exceptions arise, we provide support in researching possible solutions. We also work with our Chief Sales Officer (CSO), in providing analytical and statistical support for pricing models and fee structures for our partners and merchants.
Credomatic Merchant Services: How has Credomatic nurtured your career and promoted you from within?
Smerling Rosario: I started to work in Credomatic as a Jr. Sales Financial Analyst for the Internal Sales department, were I acquired in depth knowledge of sales and service of the acquiring business. Later I was promoted to lead the Finance department. That position made it possible for me to explore the different areas of the company, which expanded my knowledge in the industry and in my field of study. As my knowledge in the industry grew, more responsibilities were added and I was promoted to AVP responsible for the financial operations of the company.
Credomatic Merchant Services: How does the Finance Team play a key role in ensuring that Credomatic remains a successful merchant processor?
Smerling Rosario: We provide upper management information such as budget, sales projections, and details on the company’s overall financial position. These business metrics are pivotal to make necessary business decisions to drive the company in the right direction.

Smerling Rosario: Be open to learn outside the scope of your responsibilities.
